Mowed a lawn today

Today I mowed the lawn of one if my ex's (well her parents but she lived there... I was in high school). Here is a pic of the car in their garage.

1963 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II

Bonus: the father DDs a relatively trashy 1983(?) Porsche 944. I love the seats.

Eh... She was crazy (and very attractive)... Her parents love me though. Sadly the rolls has brake problems and can't stop (or at least did when I dated the girl). What a shame too, it's a beautiful car.

He has daily driven it probably since new. It's not trashed but it isn't a garage queen. The interior is mostly sorted with only a few broken plastic bits. The exterior is the worst. The paint really needs to be buffed and the rear tailgate could use a new seal (duct tape glue remains were present on the rear spoiler). Mechanically it seems pretty solid. The clutch feels excellent (haven't driven it but I have sat in it) and he drives it everyday so...

Hell! I'd have bought it if I was close enough! The best thing about '83 cars is that they're the only 944s to come with manual steering; that's the only year they had them; some people swap in manual racks because of leaky power steering pumps. I plan on doing that, or just de-powering mine.

I'd offer to spruce it up for him and maybe he'll take you for a spin, or even let you drive it! :)

It's coming along well! I haven't posted squat about it yet, because I'm saving it for a mega post of some sorts. But it's good; needs a nice detailing though.
